Prime Minister of the Republic of Srpska (RS) Radovan Viskovic recently announced that he received assurances during his visit to Moscow regarding the extension of the gas supply contract with Gazprom, which is set to expire in December. Viskovic emphasized that this contract will be renewed under the same favorable conditions, making it the most cost-effective gas option in the region.

He noted that the primary challenge lies in gas transportation. Efforts are currently underway to find solutions that will enable gas delivery not only to Bosnia and Herzegovina but also to Serbia and Hungary, indicating a regional collaboration to facilitate Russian gas supplies.

Viskovic confirmed that Gazprom expressed readiness to support any agreements made within Bosnia and Herzegovina. He also pointed out that two-thirds of the gas supplied to Bosnia and Herzegovina is utilized by the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina (FBiH), while the remaining one-third is consumed by the RS.
