Minister of Energy and Mining of the Republic of Srpska (RS), Petar Djokic, announced that electricity prices in the RS will remain unchanged throughout 2025. He emphasized that the Government has taken a firm stance on maintaining current rates.

Djokic expressed optimism about improved hydrological conditions due to increased rainfall, highlighting the crucial role of stable and efficient electricity production in hydropower plants.

Addressing the financial challenges faced by state-owned power utility Elektroprivreda Republike Srpske (ERS), the minister attributed the situation to objective difficulties but assured that these issues would be resolved. He pointed out that last year’s extremely poor hydrological conditions significantly impacted operations, forcing the company to purchase electricity at times for twice the price at which it was sold.
