Bosnia and Herzegovina: HPP Visegrad increases electricity production by 37.5% in December 2024

The subsidiary of the power utility ERS, “Hidroelektrane na Drini”, which operates the Visegrad hydropower plant, announced that the plant generated 73.18 GWh of electricity in December 2024. This marks a 37.5% increase compared to the previous month, when production stood at 53.22 GWh. However, the plant’s output in December 2024 was lower than the 150.81 GWh produced in the same month of the previous year.

In total, HPP Visegrad produced 733 GWh of electricity in 2024, down from 1,224 GWh in 2023. Commissioned in 1989, the plant has a power output of 315 MW (3 x 105 MW) and typically generates an average of 1,010 GWh annually. The plant’s record annual production was achieved in 2010, with a total of 1,283.05 GWh.
