Future liquefied natural gas (LNG) facility will be built in Zvornik municipality in Bosnia. Russian gas giant Gazprom bought land in Zvornik where it plans to build a LNG plant worth some 70 million euros.
However, joint venture company, which should be established with the Government of the Republic of Srpska (RS), has not been registered yet.
Back in December 2017, state-owned gas company Gas-Res and Gazprom’s subsidiary Gazprom SPG Technology signed an agreement and a letter of intent to establish a joint venture for the purpose of the construction of LNG plant in Zvornik.
Director of Gas-Res Ljubo Glamocic said that the company discussed the establishment of a joint venture with Gazprom earlier this year, but the coronavirus pandemic delayed the implementation of the agreement. He could not specify when the construction of LNG plant in Zvornik should start because Russian side is in charge of preparing the technical documentation, the project, the feasibility study and everything else necessary to start the construction.
