Bosnian state-owned power utility EPBiH submitted to the Ministry of Environment and Tourism of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina (FBiH) a request to conduct a preliminary environmental impact assessment (EIA) study for the project for the construction of 12.2 MW Kovanici hydropower plant on the Bosna river.
HPP Kovanici is expected to generate about 58.5 GWh of electricity per year.
Earlier this month, local company Sarajevo International has submitted requests for preliminary environmental impact assessment (EIA) studies for two small hydropower plants (SHPP) on the Bosna river. The two SHPPs in question are 3.82 MW HPP Podlugovi with estimated annual electricity generation of 18.15 GWh and 4.26 MW HPP Ljubnici with an estimated generation of 18.75 GWh.
