Bosnian state-owned power utility EPBiH has launched a tender for the procurement and installation of a desulfurization system at its coal- fired thermal power plant Kakanj worth some 64.5 million euros, without VAT.
The deadline for the submission of bids is 18 April.
TPP Kakanj has seven units, however, only three, with combined installed capacity of 450 MW, are still in operation.
Last year, EPBiH has launched a tender for the procurement and installation of desulfurization system for unit 6 of its coal-fired thermal power plant Tuzla.
The value of the contract is estimated to some 30.5 million euros, with the system expected to be used for at least 20 years. This was EPBiH’s second attempt to procure a desulfurization system for TPP Tuzla. The first tender, launched in late 2021, failed to attract any offers.
