The miners from Kreka coalmine operated by Bosnian state-owned power utility EPBiH have submitted their demands to the Parliament and the Government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina (FBiH).
Among the demands are maintaining the achieved level of employees’ salaries, suspending the application of new work regulations and the dismissal of General Director of EPBiH and General Director of Kreka coalmine. If their demands are met, the miners are prepared to get back to work by 1 December.
During this week, miners from Kreka coalmine have halted production at the mine and protested in front of the Federal Government building in Sarajevo. Due to the lack of coal stocks, only one unit of thermal power plant Tuzla is currently in operation, which remains highly susceptible to any kind of supply disruptions.
