Hydro power plant Visegrad in October 2020 has produced 78.73 GWh of electricity, which is 111 % more compared to the previous month (37.26 GWh), according to the announcement of A subsidiary of power utility ERS “Hidroelektrane na Drini”, the company which operates HPP Visegrad. Last October, the plant produced 18.36 GWh of electricity.
Director of the company Nedeljko Perisic said that the plant exceeded the planned production for this month by 75 %. He noted that this is the fourth month in the row with the production exceeding planned figures. HPP Visegrad produced 858 GWh of electricity in 2019, compared to 1,153 GWh produced in 2018. Highest monthly electricity production was recorded in May with 102.5 GWh. In the first ten months of 2020, the plant produced a total of 589.26 GWh. HPP Visegrad was commissioned in 1989 and it has power output of 315 MW (3 x 105 MW) and average annual generation of 1,010 GWh of electricity. Total electricity production of the plant stood at 23,883.26 GWh at the end of 2015. Record annual production was achieved in 2010 with 1,283.05 GWh.
