The Bulgarian Central Energy Repair Base (CERB) is carrying out repair work on the Gacko and Ugljevik thermal power plants in Republika Srpska, Bosnia and Herzegovina, according to CERB. The repairs involve dynamic balancing on a mobile stand of four turbine rotors at the two facilities.
The Gacko power plant, built in 1983, has a capacity of 300 megawatts. Along with the Ugljevik plant, it supplies 62 percent of the electricity used in the Republic of Srpska. Gacko uses lignite coal sourced from a nearby mine. Its turbine includes three cylinders designed for high, medium, and low-pressure stages.
CERB is the only company in the Balkans specializing in the maintenance of power plants. It operates in over ten countries and provides a full range of energy services, including design, monitoring, servicing, maintenance, and repair. The company was established 77 years ago.
