Power utility ERS contracted a project worth 40 million euros for the construction of a coal separation plant at coalmine and thermal power plant Gacko.
The contract was signed with a local company Termograding. The company is known for multimillion contracts with ERS and close ties with individuals in the management of RiTE Gacko.
The negotiation process was conducted without public procurement announcements, under the pretext of urgency.
ERS said that it took urgent measures and actions aimed at preventing unforeseeable consequences for the entire energy system and protecting the capital in RiTE Gacko. The company said that the Government of the Republic of Srpska, at a session in July, gave consent to a special investment decision of ERS Supervisory Board regarding the construction of a coal preparation plant using dry x-ray sensor-based separation at the Gacko coalmine.
