Gross electricity production in Bosna and Herzegovina reached 1,314 GWh in August, compared to 1,186 GWh in the same month last year, according to the National Agency for Statistics. In gross electricity production, hydropower plants participated with a share of 25%, thermal power plants with 71% and solar and wind power plants with 3%.
Net production of hydropower plants amounted to 331 GWh in August, which is 47% higher than in the same month in 2022. Thermal production amounted to 842 GWh, 1% more than last August. Electricity production from renewable sources (wind and solar) reached 43 GWh.
Electricity imports dropped by 28% to 284 GWh in August 2023 from last year’s 395 GWh, while exports rose by 7% to 611 GWh, compared to 573 GWh in August 2022.
Natural gas imports in August amounted to 8.45 million cubic meters,19% less than in the same month last year.
