Construction works on the hydropower plant Mrsovo project will start before the end of July, according to the President of the Republic of Srpska Milorad Dodik. Dodik said in an interview that, after the start of the main works on the largest hydro project in the Balkans in the last 30 years – HPP Dabar, construction will begin on a new hydropower plant.
HPP Dabar will be owned by state-owned power utility ERS and the Government is investing in new electricity generation capacities.
In January, ERS completed the acquisition of Comsar Energy Hydro, a subsidiary of Russian Comsar Energy in charge of the construction of the hydropower plant Mrsovo. The company was also involved in the construction of the coal-fired thermal power plant Ugljevik 3.
