Representatives of power utility EPBiH and the mayor of Zivinice Began Muhic held a meeting to discuss the realization of the project for the construction of solar power plants with a capacity of 60 MW in the Zivinice area on degraded mining land.
Muhic said that the project for the construction of eight solar power plants is of crucial importance for the town signalling a new era of energy transition and the production of green energy from renewable sources.
The project’s implementation started in May with a total value of around 44 million euros. The investor is EPBiH with the help of the EBRD, which will be the project’s financier for the construction of the solar power plants.
EPBiH representatives said that it is expected that the solar power plants will be operational by the end of 2024.
