Azerbaijan plans to significantly boost its natural gas exports to Serbia, according to Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov. On September 2, Bayramov announced that the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR) and Serbia’s Srbijagas have agreed to increase the annual gas supply to Serbia from 400 million cubic meters to one billion cubic meters.
This increase would supply approximately one-third of Serbia’s annual gas needs. In addition to the gas supply expansion, Bayramov highlighted that 160,000 tons of oil have already been delivered to Serbia, and the two companies have formalized a gas sales agreement.
The expanded gas supply reflects growing energy cooperation between the two countries and aims to enhance Serbia’s energy security.
