The Albanian Government has greenlit the construction of a 100 MW solar power plant near Fier, in southwestern Albania. The project, developed by local renewable energy producer Sunny Side Energy, is expected to be operational within 36 months and will have a lifespan of 49 years.
Notably, the project is privately financed, without state subsidies or a concession contract. Sunny Side Energy was founded in 2023 by the Kastrati Group, a local conglomerate.
