The Albanian government has approved the construction of a 62 MW solar power plant in the village of Tac Larte, situated in the southeastern part of the country. The project will be developed by Turkish renewable energy company Fortis Energy, representing another step in Albania’s push to expand its clean energy production.

The newly approved plant is expected to start generating electricity within three years. Once operational, it will have the right to function for up to 49 years from the date the government decision comes into effect.

Fortis Energy, which is leading the project, has also announced broader regional plans, including a 560 MW solar installation currently under development in central Albania. This highlights the company’s growing role in the country’s renewable energy sector.
