In July, the Albanian electricity exchange, ALPEX, recorded a total trading volume of 107.4 GWh in the day-ahead market, down from 145.5 GWh in the previous month. Of this, 47 GWh was traded for the Kosovo bidding zone, and 60.4 GWh for the Albania bidding zone, with both zones averaging a market clearing price of €157.98/MWh.
ALPEX was established in October 2020 by the Albanian electricity transmission system operator OST and its Kosovo counterpart KOSTT. The exchange held its first Albanian auction in April 2023 and currently has 23 members participating in the Albania and Kosovo bidding zones.
