A new large-scale solar project near Bucharest marks ENNA Group’s entry into the Romanian renewable energy market and represents its first major investment outside Croatia. Construction has now begun on the solar power plant, which will significantly expand the group’s regional footprint.
The facility, with a planned capacity of 87.5 MW, is being developed in the town of Mihailesti, about 25 kilometers south of the Romanian capital. Spanning roughly 93 hectares, the site will be among the larger solar installations in the region once completed.
Project execution has been entrusted to PVP Cepheus, a subsidiary of ENNA Solar, in collaboration with Romania’s ENEVO Group. The total investment is estimated at around 60 million euros, with commercial operation targeted for Q1 2027. When fully operational, the plant is expected to produce approximately 133 GWh of electricity per year, contributing to Romania’s renewable energy supply while supporting ENNA Group’s long-term expansion strategy.
The company notes that the Romanian project is part of a broader ten-year investment program focused on solar development in both domestic and foreign markets. The plan foresees total investments of around 330 million euros dedicated to building solar parks across the region.
Currently, ENNA Group operates nearly 50 MW of renewable capacity that is either operational or nearing completion, while a further 350 MW is in various development stages. Beyond solar, the group is also active in geothermal energy, advancing two projects in Croatia – Zagocha and Babina Greda.
