A total of 478,334.3 MWh of electricity was traded on the Serbian energy exchange SEEPEX’s day-ahead market in August 2025, marking a 0.7% decrease compared to July. The average daily traded volume was 15,430.2 MWh. Compared to August 2024, the traded volume was 9.8% lower.
The average daily base price on the day-ahead market in August was 81.06 euros/MWh, a 20.6% decrease from July, while the average peak price reached 59.07 euros/MWh, down 32.3%.
SEEPEX was officially launched on 17 February 2016 with an initial traded volume of 1,925 MWh. It is jointly owned by the Serbian electricity transmission system operator EMS and the European Power Exchange (EPEX SPOT), aiming to develop a competitive, transparent, and reliable electricity market in Serbia and southeastern Europe and to increase regional electricity trading volumes. An intraday market was introduced in July 2023.
