French renewable energy developer Qair has strengthened its presence in Eastern Europe by securing a total of 135.5 MW of wind power capacity in Romania and Moldova.

In Moldova, the company finalized a power purchase agreement for a 27.5 MW wind farm, awarded through the country’s first competitive renewable energy auction. Meanwhile, in Romania, Qair obtained a second contract-for-difference (CfD) for 50 MW at its Cobadin site in Constanta. This award complements an earlier 50 MW CfD for the same project, bringing the facility’s total planned capacity to 100 MW.

Qair’s portfolio in the two countries also includes an 8 MW Romanian project supported by the EU Modernization Fund. Altogether, the secured pipeline in Romania and Moldova now totals 135.5 MW. All projects are progressing toward the construction phase, with the developer anticipating operational synergies between the neighboring markets. Local Qair subsidiaries are managing construction, while Moldovan partner SEDERA provides implementation support for the Moldova project.

Active in wind, solar, and energy storage across Europe and other regions, Qair aims to use these projects to reinforce its position as a key driver of renewable energy expansion in Southeastern Europe.
