During the week of July 14, electricity demand increased in most major European markets. The growth ranged from a modest 0.1% in France to a significant 7.0% in Italy. In France, the rise was relatively moderate due to the French National Day holiday on Monday, July 14. Meanwhile, Portugal, Belgium, and Germany experienced week-over-week declines in demand of 3.4%, 2.9%, and 1.1%, respectively.

At the same time, average temperatures rose across most of the analyzed markets, with increases ranging from 1.1°C in Spain to 2.4°C in Belgium. In contrast, Great Britain saw a temperature decrease of 0.7°C compared to the previous week.

For the week of July 21, AleaSoft Energy Forecasting projects that electricity demand will increase in Italy, Portugal, and Great Britain, while demand is expected to decline in Belgium, Spain, France, and Germany, AleaSoft reports.
