According to short-term energy statistics from the Croatian Bureau of Statistics, net electricity production in Croatia in April 2025 reached 1,209 GWh, marking a 9% increase from the 1,109 GWh produced in April 2024.
Hydroelectric power remained the leading production source, generating 537 GWh, or 44.4% of total output. Thermal power plants produced 209 GWh, or 17.3%. Wind power contributed 292 GWh, or 24.2% of total production, while solar power provided 96 GWh, or 7.9%.
During the same period, Croatia imported 936 GWh of electricity, up 5.8% from 885 GWh in April 2024, while electricity exports grew by 20% to 715 GWh, from 596 GWh a year earlier.
Hydrocarbon production also saw slight fluctuations. Croatia produced 57 million cubic meters of natural gas in April 2025, reflecting a 1.8% rise from the previous April. However, natural gas imports fell by 8.6% to 170 million cubic meters. Crude oil production stood at 38,000 tons, a 5% drop from the previous year.
Petroleum products output jumped to 290,000 tons in April 2025, a significant increase from 42,000 tons in the same period last year, following a turnaround at the Rijeka refinery.
