PPC Group is strengthening its renewable energy presence in southeastern Europe by securing ownership of a solar power plant upon completion of its construction and commissioning. Located in central Bulgaria, the solar installation will have an installed capacity of 88 MW. The project is currently under construction by Chint Green Energy, a subsidiary of the Chint Group. Once the facility is commissioned, PPC Group will officially take over the plant, which is expected to be operational in the first quarter of 2026.
The plant is projected to generate over 140 GWh of electricity annually, sufficient to supply power to more than 23,500 households. Environmentally, the solar plant is expected to reduce carbon dioxide emissions by approximately 70,000 tons per year.
This acquisition is part of PPC Group’s ongoing regional expansion and sustainability strategy for 2025–2027. Following the launch of a 165 MW solar project in Bulgaria’s Stara Zagora region, PPC is further solidifying its footprint in the country. The move underscores PPC’s ambition to lead the green energy transition throughout southeastern Europe, extending its influence beyond Greece.
