In the Plandiste municipality, there are ambitious plans to establish 20 independent biogas plants, each with a capacity of 999 kW. The initiative involves 20 companies collectively known as Biogas Technology, all based in Vrsac, and owned by the Midala Invest Group. The project will cover an area of over 22 hectares.
The primary objective of these biogas plants is to generate electricity for the public grid while utilizing the heat produced as a byproduct for internal purposes. The main substrates for biogas production will include corn silage, rye silage, and ground corn grains.
The owner of the power plants also operates a local company, AIWA, which will supply the necessary high-quality substrates for the biogas production process. Each facility will have an agreement with AIWA to ensure a steady provision of raw materials.
The design of each plant includes systems for receiving and dosing dry substrates like corn silage, as well as liquid manure. The process involves pump-valve stations for fermentation, where biogas is generated. This biogas will then be combusted to produce both electricity and heat, with the electricity being distributed to the grid. Any residual material from the process will be efficiently stored and managed.
