Norwegian renewable energy company Statkraft anticipates completing a feasibility study for a new pumped-storage hydropower plant in southeastern Albania by 2025. This project will expand the existing HPP Moglice on the Devoll River, optimizing the use of the reservoir’s water resources.
The planned pumped-storage facility will have an installed capacity of up to 1,620 MW and an energy storage potential of nearly 28 GWh. Statkraft currently operates two hydropower plants on the Devoll River (Moglice and Banja), generating a combined electricity output of approximately 700 GWh per year.
