Romanian electricity producer Hidroelectrica has re-launched the tender for the refurbishment and upgrade of its 100 MW Brădișor hydropower plant. The company has allocated approximately 106 million euros for the design and execution of the project, after a previous attempt to secure a contractor for around 75 million euros failed due to a lack of bidders.

The tender documentation outlines that the winning bid will be selected based on a scoring procedure, with the highest weight given to the maximum guaranteed power of the turbine.

The Brădișor hydropower plant, which has a project-installed capacity of 115 MW across two Francis turbines, is located on the Lotru River in Vâlcea County. The plant has been operational since 1982.
