Beverage and snacks multinational company PepsiCo Inc has invested over 2 million USD (1.87 million euros) to put up solar panels at its sites in Romania, PepsiCo Romania said in a LinkedIn post.
The company installed rooftop and ground-mounted solar arrays at its sites in Popesti, Dragomiresti and Covasna, expecting to generate over 1 MWh to power most of the processes of the facilities, Daniel Dragusin, PepsiCo’s East Balkans supply chain director, said in a video accompanying the post.
The company’s installed capacity across all three systems is 1.7 MWp, according to a report by local media outlet Romania Insider.
Going forward, PepsiCo Romania plans to take advantage of every metre at its sites to add more solar panels, Dragusin added.
