SEE: Electricity prices ranged 68 – 96 €/MWh in week 44

In Week 44 European electricity prices decreased compared to the previous week, due to lower gas prices and CO2 emission rights, declining market demand and increased wind energy generation.

In the SEE region, the price of electricity on the exchanges fell in all analysed markets, by an average of 27%.

Croatia and Hungary registered the higher percentage declines by 36% while Greece, Italy, Bulgaria and Romania reported decreases in electricity prices within the range of 24% and 27%.

Weekly average spot electricity prices in Central Europe followed a downward trend in all markets during Week 44. All wholesale electricity markets in Central Europe experienced significant electricity price losses, with all the markets posting prices below 70 €/MWh.

France recorded the lowest electricity price at 56.00 €/MWh. Belgium registered electricity price at 60.09 €/MWh.

The Netherlands was the most exlensive country in Central Europe with electricity prices at 66.77 €/MWh.

In the first week of November, the MIBEL market in Spain reached the lowest hourly prices. From November 3 to 5, this market registered nineteen hours with a zero prices.

The Italian market registered a minimum hourly price of 2.46 €/MWh.

On Monday, November 6, from 18:00 to 19:00, the Nordic market reached its highest price since April, 142.69 €/MWh.

In the SEE region, all countries registered electricity price losses. All markets posted electricity prices below 100 €/MWh. They ranged between 68 and 96 €/MWh, with wholesale electricity prices forming lower in Croatia at a weekly average of 68.65 €/MWh, followed by Turkey, with electricity prices at 68.80 €/MWh.

The Italian market registered the highest price od the week – 95.72 €/MWh.
