Oil and gas company OMV Petrom signed a contract worth an estimated 1.6 billion euros with oilfield services company Saipem and its Romanian unit for the development of the infrastructure of the Neptun Deep offshore gas project.
Saipem will execute engineering, procurement, construction, installation and commissioning services, necessary for the development of the offshore gas fields Domino and Pelican Sud. The infrastructure will consist of ten wells, three subsea production systems and associated flow lines pipelines, an offshore platform, the main natural gas pipeline to Tuzla and a natural gas metering station.
OMV Petrom CEO Christina Verrchere said that, with the signing of this contract, the company is taking a major step in the development of the Neptun Deep project, as this marks the beginning of the execution phase.
Last week, OMV Petrom said that the Neptun Deep project entered the development phase following regulatory approval.
