The House of Peoples of the FBiH Parliament adopted today the Bill on Electricity in the FBiH as one of the three energy laws in the set introducing European standards and which is important for citizens and the future of the entire energy sector of the Federation of BiH. The conclusion was also adopted that the FBiH Government, when determining the official texts of legal acts, takes into account their compatibility, especially that they are linguistically compatible.
The Federal Minister of Energy, Mining and Industry, Vedran Lakić, in his explanation to the delegates, stated that this law regulates electric power policy and planning, as well as electric power activity and the license to perform it, as well as the regulation of this activity.
The law regulates the construction of power plants, as well as the production and distribution of electricity, as well as the supply and trade of electricity.
He stated that the current Law on Electricity in FBiH from 2013 made a significant contribution to the development of the electricity sector, and that after its adoption, BiH, as a member of the Energy Community, undertook to implement several regulations from the EU legal framework and to continue the process of liberalization of the electricity and energy market transition to clean energy.
