2.1 TWh of electricity was traded on the day-ahead market of the Independent Bulgarian Energy Exchange in May 2023, according to a monthly report. That is 10% less compared to April. The average daily traded volume in May amounted to 67,676 MWh. Traded volume in May 2023 was 1% higher compared to the same month last year.
The average baseload price on the day-ahead market in May amounted to 87.36 euros/MWh, which is 12% lower compared to April (98.72 euros/MWh). The average peak price decreased by 16% to 75.66 euros/MWh.
On the intraday market, 167,388.2 MWh were traded, with the average weighted price amounting to 79.15 euros per MWh (-20%).
