The Greek Government rejected to issue an environmental permit for a project for the construction of seven wind farms with combined installed capacity of 239.6 MW in Thessaly, developed by local company Enercoplan.
The proposal was rejected due to concerns related to the project’s potential impacts on protected bird species in the area as the proposed mitigation measures were not sufficient to keep the ecological balance. Concerns over the cumulative effects on forested areas have also been taken into account.
