Romania, US company Fluor is interested in getting involved in the project for the construction of the electricity transmission cable along the Tuzla – Podisor route

Romanian Minister of Energy Virgil Popescu said that the US company Fluor is interested in getting involved in the project for the construction of the electricity transmission cable along the Tuzla – Podisor route, then on the corridor of the BRHA gas pipeline.

Minister Popescu and CEO of Nuclearelectrica Cosmin Ghita met with the representatives of the Fluor Corporation to discuss the latest developments in the small reactor project, which will be installed in Doicesti, but also about the project for the construction of two new units at nuclear power plant Cernavoda.

He stressed that collaboration and coordination are important for these two very important projects to be completed on time, in order to ensure our independence and energy security. In addition, Fluor Corporation expressed interest in getting involved in the project for the construction of electricity transmission line on the Tuzla – Podisor route, then on the BRHA gas pipeline corridor, to ensure the connection from the east to the west of the country.

Last year, electricity transmission system operator Transelectrica declared the Tuzla – Podisor transmission line as one of 20 strategic electricity transmission projects in the country.
