Greek Mytilineos Group and Portuguese renewable energy developer EDP Renovaveis (EDPR) have signed power purchase agreement (PPA) for 78 MW of wind projects which the company develops in Greece.

The electricity will be produced by two wind farms located in the Viotia region in central Greece, with installed capacities of 23 MW and 35 MW respectively, as well as 21 MW wind farm in Achaia in western Greece. The three wind farms will have a combined electricity generation of over 232 GWh per year, equal to the annual consumption of some 60,000 Greek households. All three wind farms are expected to enter commercial operation in 2025.

EDPR entered the Greek RES market in 2018 and this is its first PPA contract. Mytilineos Group said that the signing of the contract with EDPR is a part of its strategy targeting over 2 GW of capacity, both from own assets and third party PPAs.
