Slovenia’s sole nuclear power plant Krsko has been reconnected to the network on 7 November after the planned overhaul which started on 1 October.
During the downtime, the upgrades of the high- pressure turbine were performed, which will increase unit’s power output by 10 MW, resulting in additional 90 GWh of produced electricity per year.
The next planned overhaul of the plant is scheduled for the spring of 2024.
696 MW NPP Krsko generates some 40 % of Slovenia’s electricity output. The power plant is co -owned with neighboring Croatia and the two countries split the plant’s electricity generation in half.
