According to data published by Greek electricity transmission system operator ADMIE, electricity exports increased by 805 % year-on-year in June 2022, mostly due to delayed pricing formula, which follows TTF gas index with one-month delay.
The amount of electricity exported in June reached 351 GWh, compared to just 39 GWh in the same month last year.
However, although electricity exports soared last month, Greece remains net electricity importer. The country imported a total of 509 GWh of electricity in June 2022, which is a 25 % drop year -on-year. The deficit amounted to 158 GWh, compared to 490 GWh in June 2021.
Electricity generation in June 2022 increased by 15 % year-on-year, reaching 4,154 GWh. On the other hand, electricity consumption dropped for the third month in a row, by 1.22 % to 4,313 GWh.
