State-owned National Electricity Company (NEK), a subsidiary of BEH, recorded a net profit in the amount of 142.3 million euros in the first nine months of 2021, compared to a profit of just around 300,000 euros recorded in the same period last year.
The increase is mainly due to a 48 % rise in the company’s revenues, which reached 1.39 billion euros in the first nine months of the year. Revenues from electricity sales amounted to almost 800 million euros, which by 44 % more compared to 2020.
NEK’s operating expenses also increased, reaching 1.24 billion euros compared 941 million euros in the first nine months of 2020.
NEK’s assets rose to 2.89 billion euros at the end of September from 2.71 billion euros at the end of last year.
