Gross electricity production in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina (FBiH) in August 2021 amounted to 606 GWh, which is by 1.1 % lower compared to August last year, when it amounted to 613 GWh.
Net electricity production amounted to 552 GWh, of which 205 GWh (37.1 %) was produced in hydropower plants, 331 GWh (60 %) was produced in thermal power plants, while wind farms produced 16 GWh. In August, electricity imports amounted to 227 GWh, compared to just 26 GWh in the same month last year, while electricity exports amounted to 215 GWh, compared to 140 GWh last August.
In the same month, production of brown coal amounted to 345,487 tons, which is 0.2 % less compared to 2020 when the production stood at 346,230 tons. Lignite production in August 2021 amounted to 95,855 tons, while in August 2020 it amounted to 147,277 tons, a 34.9 % decrease.
Coke production in August 2021 totaled 75,016 tons, which is 26.9 % more than 59,105 tons produced in August 2020.
