Biogas power plant in Vrbas in northern province of Vojvodina has been commissioned by Sunoko, a member of MK Group. With an investment of over 9 million euros, the company is giving a strong contribution to the preservation of the environment and the production of green energy. The power plant has an installed capacity of 2.4 MW, enough to cover annual needs of some 5,000 households. Technical Director at Sunoko Zoran Stojak said that although Serbia, as an agrarian country, has extraordinary potential when it comes to renewable energy sources, there are only around 15 operational biogas power plants. Sunoko has decided to use the waste and the byproducts from sugar beet for the production of electricity. With these innovative projects, MK Group is contributing to environmental protection, but also more efficient and sustainable operations. The biogas power plant in Vrbas is using the technological solution of the German company Wabio Technologie GMBH, which, for the past quarter of a century, has been creating advanced and sustainable energy solutions.
