Serbian Minister of Mining and Energy Zorana Mihajlovic and the new Ambassador of Turkey to Serbia Hami Aksoy conducted a meeting at which they talked on cooperation between the two countries in the energy and mining sectors, with an emphasis on renewable energy sources.
Minister Mihajlovic pointed out that there is a lot of room for cooperation with Turkish companies, adding that Serbia and Turkey have good bilateral relations. She took the opportunity to recall that four new laws had recently been adopted and that they provided the basis for the Green Agenda, decarbonization and energy transition. In addition, the Ministry will soon present the Book of Projects in Energy and Mining, whose estimated value is approximately 16 billion euros, said Mihajlovic.
Aksoy pointed out that more than 1,200 Turkish companies currently work in Serbia, but that there should be more of them in the energy and mining sectors. The two countries should jointly develop concrete projects in energy and mining, especially when it comes to renewable energy sources, the Turkish Ambassador said.
