In April 2021, gross electricity production in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina (FBiH) amounted to 693 GWh, which is by 28.1 % higher compared to April last year, when it amounted to 541 GWh.
Net electricity production amounted to 649 GWh, of which 296 GWh (45.6 %) was produced in hydropower plants, 327 GWh (50.4 %) was produced in thermal power plants, while wind farms produced 26 GWh. In April, electricity imports amounted to 31 GWh, compared to 29 GWh in the same month last year, while electricity exports amounted to 296 GWh, compared to 261 GWh last April. In the same month, production of brown coal amounted to 340,734 tons, which is 8.9 % less compared to 2020 when the production stood at 374,058 tons. Lignite production in April 2021 amounted to 139,739 tons, while in April 2020 it amounted to 176,592 tons, a 20.9 % decrease. Coke production in April 2021 totaled 81,843 tons, which is 37.3 % more than 59,614 tons produced in April 2020.
