Energy suppliers in Romania are obliged to purchase a number of green certificates in proportion to the amount of energy traded.
The companies licensed for the supply of energy are required to purchase a total of 4.2 million green certificates for the first quarter of 2021, said the National Regulatory Authority for Energy (ANRE).
Electrica Furnizare must purchase the most certificates – 915,636, followed by Enel Energie Muntenia with 477,042 certificates, and Enel Energie with 427,945. The list is followed by E.ON – 420,231 green certificates, CEZ Vânzare – 406,524 and Getica 95 – 344,975 certificates.
Several operators, including Donau Chem, Vest Energo and Enero Furnizare, did not provide the necessary information to ANRE and risk a fine of between 1 and 5 % of their annual turnover.
