In November 2020 gross electricity production in Bosnia and Herzegovina amounted to 1,540 GWh, compared to 1,575 GWh in the same month last year, according to Agency for Statistics of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
In total gross electricity production hydropower plants participated with the share of 30.1 %, thermal power plants with 68.9 % and solar and wind power plants with 1 %. Net production of hydropower plants amounted to 462 GWh in November 2020, which is 24.8 % less than in the same month in 2019. Thermal production amounted to 1,060 GWh, which is 14.8 % more than last November. Electricity production from renewable sources (wind and solar) reached 16 GWh. Electricity imports rose by 70.1 % to 308 GWh in November from last year’s 181 GWh, while exports increased by 3.9 % to 725 GWh (698 GWh in November 2019). Production of lignite in BiH amounted to 688,000 tons in November 2020, which is 0.3 % more compared to the same month last year, while the production of brown coal decreased by 12.4 % and amounted to 531,000 tons. Natural gas imports in November 2020 amounted to 25.813 million cubic meters, which is 21 % more than a year before (21.33 million cubic meters).
