In October 2020 on the Croatian energy exchange CROPEX, a total volume of 506,131.7 MWh of electricity was traded, which is 7.1 % more than in September, of which 466,445.5 MWh on the day-ahead market and 39,686.2 MWh on the intraday market.
Traded volume in October 2020 was 2.5 % lower compared to the same month last year. Average daily base price on day-ahead market in October amounted to 38.59 euros/MWh, which is 15.9 % lower than in the previous month, while average euro-peak price reached 43.87 euros/MWh, 12.2 % lower compared to the previous month. The average price on the intraday market was 45.69 euros/MWh, 17.2 % lower compared to September. There are 20 participants on CROPEX day-ahead market, twelve of which have been active on the intraday market as well. Average daily traded volume on the day-ahead market in October amounted to 15,046.6 MWh. CROPEX was launched on 11 March 2016 in cooperation with Nord Pool, Europe’s leading electricity exchange, and is co-owned by the Croatian electricity transmission system operator (HOPS) and the Croatian electricity market operator (HROTE). Intraday market was launched in April 2017. On 19 June last year, after joint project of Croatian and Slovenian transmission system operators and power exchanges, CROPEX day ahead market was successfully coupled with MRC markets through Croatian – Slovenian border.
