Production of electricity in April 2020 decreased by 21.5 % compared to March, to 3,066 GWh, while consumption of electricity dropped by 16.1 % on monthly basis and amounted to 2,587 GWh, according to Bulgarian National Statistical Institute.
Consumption of natural gas in April 2020 decreased by 23.2 % and amounted to 232 million cubic meters, while its production also dropped by 20 % to 4 million cubic meters. Compared to April 2019, production of electricity decreased by 15.5 %, while its consumption fell by 6.2 %. Consumption of natural gas decreased by 7.2 % compared to April 2019.
In April, production of unleaded petrol decreased by 17.2 % and amounted to 106,000 tons, while its consumption dropped by 17.9 % and amounted to 23,000 tons. Production of diesel in April decreased by 10.4 % compared to the previous month and amounted to 224,000 tons, while its consumption dropped by 30.7 % and amounted to 115,000 tons. Consumption of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) decreased by 40 % and amounted to 18,000 tons, while its production also dropped by 37.5 % and amounted to 5,000 tons. At the same period, production of solid fuels decreased by 11.5 % to 1,793 thousand tons, while consumption of this energy resource also dropped by 11.4 % to 1,852 thousand tons.
