Average traded volume in May 2020 amounted to 2,663 MWh/h. The average price of electricity on day-ahead market of the Romanian energy exchange OPCOM amounted to 24.86 euros/MWh in May 2020, which is 38.98 % lower compared to the same month in 2019 and 2.56 % lower compared to the previous month, when average baseload price amounted to 25.51 euros/MWh. Traded volume in May reached 1.981 million MWh, which is 20.86 % more than in May 2019, and 2.66 % more than in April 2020.
The total value of transactions in May amounted to 50 million euros, which is by 26.65 % lower compared to May last year (68.17 million euros) and 0.59 % more than in the previous month (49.71 million euros). The share of day-ahead market in forecasted net consumption in May 2020 amounted to 50.27 %. A total of 39,641.8 MWh was traded on intraday market in May (32.39 % more than in May 2019, and 18.97 % more compared to April 2020), with an average price of 24.25 euros/MWh. Total traded volume for bilateral contracts with delivery in May amounted to 1.289 million MWh, with an average price of 53.07 euros/MWh.
