700MEUR for 600MW new power plant Ugljevik 3, contract signing expected soon

The executive director of Komsar Energy Republika Srpska, Sinisa Majstorovic expects the contract signing for new power plant Ugljevik 3 to be signed in july.

Majstorovic explained that the value of the investment is 700MEUR which is bigger amount that initialy planed, and added that the investor company is expecting to obtain location and construction permits in july as the the main design is completed.

He added that the time frame for new thermal power plant construction is 30 months from the contract signing date. Investor is working on the adjustments of complete documentation as the initial output power plan is changed and instead of 2x230MW, two new units of 300MW will be constructed.

According to Komsar energy the project will engage directly or indirectly few thousands of workers and after commissioning of the plant and its full operation the plant and mine itself will hire 600 new workers.
